January 15 was Martin Luther King's Birthday. Martin Luther King was a man fighting for more civil rights for all people. He was
assassinated on April 4, 1968. Shortly before his death, he was making the transition from civil rights to economic
rights and empowerment for all. His birthday was made a Federal Holiday in 1983.
